Emery Theater

TYPE

Historic Theater Renovation

LOCATION

Cincinnati, Ohio

The Emery Theater, built in 1911 as a 2211-seat, acoustically-pure concert space that served as the original home of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra from 1912 to 1936. John Senhauser Architects and Westlake Reed Leskosky were asked to complete a feasibility study and concept design to re-establish and transform this historic treasure into a unique 1600-seat venue for film, theatre, music, and dance. Our solution was to restore the main stage back to full-functioning order as well as create classroom, rehearsal, and studio spaces, a multi-use event center, and roof terrace.
