Winner of the Merit Award at the 2019 AIA Cincinnati CRANawards, Eighth & Sycamore is a mixed-use17-story highrise in downtown Cincinnati. The project’s color, rhythm, and orderly structure blend with the historic context of late 19th-century brick buildings. To enliven the tower, it is clad in metal panels coated with Kolorshift to create an iridescent color-changing effect. The rain screen shifts between a dark red and a bright green, depending on one’s vantage point and the sunlight.
Eighth & Main is a 13-story residential building in the heart of Cincinnati’s Main Street historic district. The building includes amenity space at the first floor. The floors above contain 125 apartments ranging from micro to two-bedroom units. The 13th floor steps back at the southeast corner to provide a shared rooftop terrace with views of the Ohio River and downtown skyline. The project is currently under construction with estimated completion in Spring 2020.
The award-winning East Walnut Hills Residence began as a kitchen renovation, and then grew to include an addition and new terrace atop the existing garage. By removing the existing deck, we were able to extend the kitchen – spatially linking the family room and terrace while also creating a new breakfast area. Within this new space, a wall of glass overlooks the owner’s property and reconnects the home to its site.
